The Cake Topper!

I wanted something that defined who Matt and I are.  Since Matt and I were having this wedding we decided to treat it as a party that represented us and not what other people wanted from us.  I am all about personalization and letting our personalities show instead of being forced into something that others thought we should do. Our cake topper was no different.

Supplies:

  • Sloth – this was found on Amazon
  • T-Rez – this was found at Michael’s
  • E6000 in clear
  • White tulle
  • Black felt
  • Scissors
  • Needle + tread in white and black

Steps:

1.       Glue the sloth to the T-Rex.  This was easy since the sloth was made to look like it was in a tree.

2.       Make a top hat by cutting a rectangle out of the felt.  Sew the ends of the rectangle together.  Use the rectangle as template to create the base of the top hat circle and the top of the top hat circle.  Sew the circles to the top hat once you have them cut out.

3.       Glue the top hat to the T.Rex

4.       Make a little bow by cutting some tulle in a rectangle and folding the edges into the middle.  Sew them down and then warp the thread around the center of the rectangle and pull to get the bow shape.

5.       Glue the bow.

6.       Enjoy your custom one of a kind cake topper!
