Housewarming Gift

My husband put me in charge of putting together a housewarming gift that was more creative than just gifting a bottle of wine. I took a picture of the couples house and created a line drawing of it. Once I was done, I used my cricut to cut out a paper version to make sure the cut file was correct. Then I used it to cut out iron on vinyl and ironed it onto a canvas tote bag. The iron didn’t work as well as I wanted, but luckily my husband bought me an Cricut Easypress 2 (bonus points for it being in my signature color) for my birthday. Before I handed the gift off, I did a test run with the Easypress for one final pressing. I used Pintrest to find Italian housewarming gifts for inspiration on the contents of the bag. I created tags with the reasoning for each item using extra tags I had from my wedding and a embossing kit.

What went in the bag:

  • The Mathara Manual (one of my favorite books)
  • Wine so they will never be thirsty
  • Candles so they will always have light
  • Bread mix so they will never go hungry
  • Cookie mix so they will always have something sweet
  • Himalayan salt so they will always have flavor
  • A keychain for the new keys

I’ve officially open an Etsy! If you are interested in ordering a custom housewarming tote, please check out my Etsy store!
