Wedding Invites & Guest Book

For our wedding invites I wanted to create them myself. I decided to recreate my husband’s favorite painting, a Starry Night, but with cacti to fit our wedding theme. I used acrylic paints and canvas paper to create the painting. I had the painting matted on black to use for the guestbook and created the gold lettering using vinyl and my Cricut. Once I had the painting created and dried, I took a picture of it and Photoshopped it to the settings I wanted took it. I had them printed at Staples and then cut them out. After these were done, I had my husband do the wording for the overlay. I got acetate paper from Blick and had Staples print the invites out. TIP if you are wanting clear invites, make sure you use a laser printer on the clear paper.

For the envelope liners, I used gold glitter cellophane warp from Michael’s. This was a cheaper option then scarp book paper and since it was thinner it didn’t add much weight to the envelope.

For the RSVP, the Details, and transportation information, I had these printed on gray paper from Staples.

Once everything was cut out and put into the envelope, I sealed the envelope with a cactus gold embossed stamp. The envelopes, stamps, and embossing kit were bought from Paper Source. To write the addresses on the envelopes, we used a gold Sharpie.
