When my niece turned one back in June, I decided to create the High Chair tutu (click here). When I was done I wanted to create something more so I created a cake topper and the letter C to put in front of the tutu to complete the look.
For the Cake topper:
Supplies:
- Gold Paint + Paint Brush
- Glitter poster board (I bought this from Joann)
- Wooden Dowels
- Hot Glue Gun + Glue Sticks (I used gold glue sticks)
- Cricut
Steps:
- Paint the dowel gold, stopping where the dowel will be inserted in the cake.
- Put your design into the Cricut Design Space and cut it.
- Glue the design to the dowel and enjoy!
For the C
Supplies:
- Card Stock
- Gold Paint + Paint brush
- Modge Podge
- Gold Glitter
- Matte Board
- Ribbon
- Cricut
Steps:
- Create the C template using a Cricut or print out a C and cut it out.
- Trace the template on the matte board ( I used this because it’s thicker and I had some extra laying around).
- Paint the C with gold paint and let it dry.
- Coat the C in Modge Podge and cover in glitter. I did both sides of the C to make sure it looked extra sparkly.
- Glue ribbon onto the back of the C and let dry.
- Hang in front of the tutu and enjoy the first birthday decor!
